The chance for clean slates and fresh starts comes around every year, and everyone has their own idea of how an ideal year to come might look. If your vision is one where varicose and spider veins are left in the past, you’ll be thrilled to know there is effective therapy available.

Telling the Difference Between Spider Veins and Varicose Veins

While both can do damage to your self-esteem, it’s still a good idea to call each by their proper name, especially if you’re interested in pursuing treatment for them. Spider veins are, like the name implies, a weblike section of blood vessels visible through the skin. They can be red, blue and purple in color, but are not raised. Varicose veins, on the other hand, are immediately visible and bulging in texture. These veins can be painful, both physically and emotionally.

Getting Rid of Varicose Veins

While typically visible on the legs, spider veins and varicose veins can and do strike in other parts of the body. The face and chest are not uncommon places to find them, either. Fortunately, there is a science-backed treatment available in Sclerotherapy.

What is Sclerotherapy?

A gradual, non-surgical and minimally invasive procedure, sclerotherapy consists of small injections of sterile solutions into the affected veins. Over time, those veins will constrict and eventually integrate into local tissue. The window for results is three to six weeks following treatment; in this time, you could notice a visible difference in the look of prominent veins. Pain and other side effects related to prominent and uncomfortable varicose veins should also begin to subside during this time frame.

Step into Spring with Fewer Spider Veins and Varicose Veins

Taking great care of your skin goes a long way toward keeping it healthy for years to come. Still, there are some things you just can’t prevent. Varicose veins and spider veins are among them; they just also happen to be things you can easily treat.

First time ever at a dermatology office! So I was a little nervous... But they have a very friendly staff and it was nice meeting PA Joel! Felt comfortable and he was informative & made me feel like I wasn’t the only person dealing with my issue. I can’t wait to see some results and get some relief!!

I’ve been going here awhile. I’ve got a few pesky issues, some due to my not allowing areas to completely heal, sins that prolongs my already glacier like speed healing! I really appreciate Dr. Kayal and Joel who combine to take of me and my family.

Was greeted upon my arrival, very nice waiting room, was taken back immediately. Very professional, caring and friendly staff. They want to help you. The PA Joel was very knowledgeable and knew exactly how to help me. I was given a prescription to address the problem. Will be back with other issues, keep up the good work.
